Kurofune is a consistent, delicious establishment. Family run, the staff is kind and the chefs are talented. I only wish they'd be open for lunch as they're dinner only and open every day aside from Monday.

The quality of sashimi is comparable to the high end in the city and great service too. Highly recommend.

The absolute must go to Sushi spot in Commack that is truly authentic, delicious, friendly, and fresh. The building looks like it could be someones house, and upon going in it really looks homey and intimate. The place was packed, every table full, and we now know why because of how good the sushi rolls were: I got a Halloween Roll which was really good, and my gf got two other rolls which she loved as well, one was a super spicy Tuna Roll. Highly recommend, officially our favorite neighborhood Sushi spot.

Fresh is the only word that matters in Japanese restaurants, and Kurofune delivered. My family and some friends came with a large group which they accommodated and which gave me the opportunity to try lots of different dishes since we ate family style. First, I liked everything that I tried, you won't be disappointed if you randomly point at the menu without reading it or get confused by the Japanese names of the menu. For appetizers, try the Spicy Edamame, you'll be surprised at the perfect balance of spice, hot enough to give a burst of flavor but not too hot to burn. The description of the Squid Salad doesn't give justice to this dish. This was one of my favorite dishes. Also try the Rising Sun. The rolls were fresh, my favorites were the Jalapeño Salmon and Halloween Roll, but really the freshness at Kurofune makes everything so much better. My youngest wasn't very adventurous, so she got the chicken teriyaki and described it as "mouthwatering". I finished with ginger ice cream. It was like eating a creamy ginger snap. You have to try it. I also got to try the Fried Ice Cream which was great! Just to wrap up my comments if you are planning a date. Parking was easy. Atmosphere was cozy, not too loud, and not eerily quiet. Chairs were designed with craftsmanship from an era before simplicity meant cheap. I really enjoyed everything even with a large group. Sorry for the pictures. I was mostly done with the meal before thinking, "I should definitely write a review for this place."

Honestly was super impressed with the size of the rolls and the freshness. You can tell they are very authentic, the rice is super soft and fresh. I got the fireman roll, k1 roll and salmon avocado. Everything was absolutely delish. The rolls stand out to me compared to competitors due to side, freshness and authenticity. I had seen a lot of recommendations to come here so was excited to try. I got take out and the process was easy. The menu is a bit pricey but worth it for the quality. Will be back! Worth the drive.

A hidden gem on Long Island. It's Just my favorite place to eat sushi on Long Island, great service all the time, fish always tastes fresh. Can never go wrong
